That being said, the film is a little slow for my taste. Their dialogue isn’t the product of some Hollywood producer guessing what young people talk like these days. The intimacy that this creates is surely one of the draws of the film. When a character says how they are feeling It’s not just the character that feels that way. I watch it and feel that I am getting to know how these guys actually feel. In many ways the film feels more like a documentary than a film. There aren’t a ton of twist and turns, no big plot moments, and the characters, such as they are, are less characters and more alter egos of Hopper (“ Blue Velvet”) and Fonda. Just a couple of dudes riding cross country on motorcycles, getting high and meeting new people along the way. 6.The thing that strikes me most as I watch "Easy Rider” is how simple of a concept it is. Whether it's worth watching more than once, I'd say it's your call, but please don't show "Easy Rider" to your little ones they need to be older to try to understand and appreciate the film. I think that the themes of clashes of cultures and ensuing conflicts are worth thinking about, and there is enough artistic merit in this film to watch once. The opening scene involves a selling of cocaine, and the two main characters are seen smoking marijuana and cigarettes throughout much of the film (and as I mentioned earlier, there is an acid trip: it's near the end of the film with lots of bizarre images).

But the main reason why I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone who's not an adult is because of the drug use. There is some sexual activity and images of nudity (including during an acid trip, and during one skinny-dipping scene). There are two notable scenes of intense violence (in one scene in the shadows, there are some beatings resulting in a death in the second scene, one person is blasted with a shotgun and the resulting images are very graphic). In that sense, the movie is kind of thought-provoking, but I wouldn't recommend kids or teens watch this film because of other problematic elements. There are also some haunting images of the clash of two different cultures (or at least, the contrast of the different lifestyles of people). I think the cinematography, acting, and scenery in the movie were absolutely well done. I am not entirely sure what I thought of this film. PG-T - Content of a PG film, with a few things you may expect from a T film If somebody has a basic understanding of drugs and what they do, they will be fine watching Easy Rider. There is a bizarre sequence where the characters take LSD, however the acid trip is represented visually and mainly just consists of lots of cuts and random shots of things in the nearby area, also some strange dialogue. The actors were smoking real marijuana throughout and some cocaine is tested in the first scene, however none of this is graphic at all. The film isn't particularly strong considering its 18 certificate in the UK: there is barely any violence with little blood, the characters do hire prostitutes but nothing happens (however there is brief nudity which is hard to see in a hallucination scene), there is little-to-no bad language. The film is about the end of the 60s era, however the film is told in a very strange manner which likely won't appeal to today's viewers. God Bless us all.Įasy Rider is an odd film, and very few will likely have interest in it. music has long been used to control us all, into delving deeper and deeper into moral less choices.don't let your kids see this unless it's to show them everything that was wrong with the 60's that plummeted our country into the mess we are living in today.

People love the music in this film bc it was the first time a movie became like a film long version of music video backdrop.before mtv existed. I don't even want to spend more time on this, bc it's just not worth it. This movie Brought an entire shift into debauchery sold to Americans as "artful filmmaking." The most beloved, helpful and rational characters death isn't given a modicum of respect outside of deciding to leave his brutally beaten dead body to go visit the dead man's top bucket list : the whore house he most wanted to visit. Thus Common Sense media yes? But when I see this movie with 4 stars as if it's some beacon of quality, it makes my stomach turn. (Spoiler alert) When you understand that films are essentially propaganda that not only entertain but shape people's perceptions of what is hip, admirable, to be EMULATED.one must carefully consider what content you allow your child to watch.
